Additional James River State Park

Camping Regulations

  1. Quiet hours are from 10 PM to 6 AM. All guests are expected to respect the quiet hours. If someone is not observing this rule, please notify a staff member immediately.

  2. The Virginia spring burn ban is in effect from February 15th until April 30th. Campfires are only allowed from 4pm until midnight. If the park has a camp host on site for the month you may have campfires at any time.

  3. Do not bring firewood into the park. We have endangered trees and we don’t want any invasive species coming into the park.

  4. Please don’t cut or mar any plants or trees. Do not cut or insert nails in trees. Do not hang objects from trees such as lanterns, tarps, hammocks, clotheslines, lights, etc.

  5. All garbage and recycling should be properly disposed of in the receptacles on your right, just across from Branch Pond Rd.

  6. Pets cannot be left unattended at any time during your stay. Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet or in an enclosed area.

  7. State law permits alcohol use only in private areas (inside your cabin or camping unit).

  8. All other park rules and regulations apply to the campground.

  9. Wi-Fi is available at the Visitor Center.
